Pasting the Interview Below:

Nathan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?Working in the wedding business as an entertainer has been a very rewarding occupation for me. I started by providing music entertainment in my parents backyard for my youngest brother’s wedding. This was my first event, and it led to many requests from family members for future events. It was enjoyable working with people I know, as I know how to make them happy, and what their needs are. Moving my business into the public view was a big step for me, as I moved to upgrade my profile, my equipment, and my website. Booking events for private and corporate events can be challenging, but I try to focus on the individual needs of each event. I learned through experience that my role in the entertainment industry is not to promote myself, but to elevate these events by keeping the focus on the people I get to entertain. Making decisions in difficult moments should always include what the guests want, not what my own personal needs are. This is the recipe for great events. Being able to provide entertainment for the larger group, while blending in to the natural vibe of any event and keeping the focus on the individuals we are celebrating.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?Decisions can be difficult to make when you are working on your own. As sole proprietor of my entertainment business, the right decision or wrong decision would have great impacts on me. It becomes easy to settle, to take the easy path, to try to act normal. It also becomes easy to jump in on ideas from others, when you can’t continue your creativity. There are projects I’ve been involved in, which seemed too good to be true, but I chased after anyway. Partnerships with other companies that fell flat, that included non-compete clauses, and essentially put me out of business for years at a time. Being an entrepreneur requires the fortitude to start from scratch, again and again. Besides, that’s where business begins for entrepreneurs, so it’s a common path we all share. I know that I have the capability to carve my own unique niche in this industry. Failing to innovate, and being afraid to fail, can all have great impacts on my business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?I specialize in making memorable events a reality. We all have dreams when planning events, I try to make those dreams a reality for guests and those I work with. I’m a mobile DJ that provides state-of-the-art sound equipment for music, and I offer MC Services for all events. Having completed over 300 events in the Charleston, SC area, I have turned my focus to working with other vendors in the industry to put on memorable occasions.

What people really love about my business is that I provide the complete entertainment package. I’m more than just a DJ! With Photobooth, Lighting, Cold Sparklers, and custom announcements, you can customize your event from start to finish. Every event is completely custom and unique, just like my customers. I’m the person you plan with, and the person who will be there for the event to perform. So, there is a seamless process from planning to putting your plans into action on the day of the event.

What were you like growing up?I grew up in a large family of 4 brothers and 3 sisters, my mom always wanted a big family. My mom came from a family of 10 brothers and sisters. This type of upraising really helps you to socialize and work through problems with each other. I’ve been involved in different athletics, like basketball, tennis, track. I loved sports and competition. I continue to enjoy the outdoors like I did when I was younger, and going to events. I loved going to social events during high school and my wife says I’m happiest around groups of people. She still has trouble pulling me out of conversations!
